Shoot Visual Development, 2022 (Ongoing)
Shoot is the Children's Book I wrote and illustrated for my final capstone project in university. It follows a young Filipino named Maya Flores who wishes to play basketball with her older brother and the rest the kids in her neighbourhood. Maya faces challenges as she attempts to join the team, but with the help of those closest to her, she will do anything to achieve the goal of becoming a basketball player. Maya’s story is a story of hard work, perseverance, belief in one’s self and the importance of familial support.
I am currently in the process of further developing the story visually and redesigning the visuals from the book.
Maya Flores Character Design
Maya Flores is the youngest child of the Flores family. She is an outgoing and silly child who likes to make everyone around her laugh. She is super positive, almost too annoying for her older brother, and very hopeful. Her parents call her their little “Sunshine”. She has always watched her brother and the kids in the neighbourhood play basketball. As she slowly gets older, she wishes to join them as well.
